Resettlement of South Sudanese returnees from the Republic of Sudan in Juba, South Sudan.

The project in South Sudan aims to improve the living conditions of returnees and asylum seekers affected by the ongoing crises and the Sudanese conflict. Despite persistent macroeconomic challenges and the influx of more than 300,000 refugees fleeing violence, the project has successfully distributed food and essential aid to those in need. Key objectives included distributing basic foodstuffs and relief supplies such as maize flour, beans, oil, and blankets to 200 households in Juba.

The project's implementation involved meetings with church leaders and local authorities to identify beneficiaries and plan distribution mechanisms. Seven hundred family members were mobilized, registered, and provided with the necessary supplies. Gender-equitable measures, as well as protecting the dignity and safety of the beneficiaries, were paramount. Distributions took place in cooperation with local churches and community leaders, ensuring that all beneficiaries had equal access to the aid provided.

The project has demonstrated that, despite the difficult circumstances, an organized distribution of aid is possible. The distribution was successfully completed, and the team also conducted a follow-up check to monitor the ongoing needs of the beneficiaries. However, to strengthen people's resilience in the long term, the organization is requesting additional resources to continue providing emergency assistance and securing the livelihoods of returnees.
