Emergency and development aid

In the event of disasters, we can provide immediate and uncomplicated assistance with volunteers from the local communities.

The WEA Partnership provides financial and practical assistance in cases of earthquakes, war, famine, and other crises. We rely on our regional and national Evangelical Alliances in cooperation with local churches and denominations.
Through our global network of churches and aid organizations in almost every country, we can quickly collaborate with local congregations and numerous volunteers in crisis situations. We can often utilize local church buildings as emergency shelters and supply centers. WEA Partnership coordinates financial support, project management, project reports, and accounting worldwide. This allows us to multiply the impact of our aid funds and keep personnel costs in crisis areas low. Furthermore, we can immediately take action in particularly difficult-to-reach areas where many other aid organizations may struggle to gain access.

Reconstruction and development aid

In areas experiencing chronic crises, we support reconstruction and long-term development on the ground. In the past, for example, we have financed the construction of water cisterns in drought-stricken Somalia, the restoration of collapsed houses and roofs in the highlands of Afghanistan, and the vocational retraining of tourism sector workers in Bethlehem who lost their jobs due to the blockade of the West Bank.

The WEA Crisis Centre coordinates emergency and development aid globally.

This is what the WEA Crisis Response Coordination Center does.

  • We strengthen the capacities of helpers from local churches, as well as national and regional Evangelical Alliances and Christian aid organizations, through training in disaster relief and prevention.
  • We support local churches and national response teams in raising funds so they can apply the skills they have learned in times of crisis.
  • We help with the training of volunteers to create project and financial reports for donors, aid organizations and churches, as well as with donor communication such as working with photos, videos, personal testimonials and social media posts.
  • We provide long-term coaching to church-based project leaders in organizational development and accounting. In addition, we invest in the training of local and regional mentors who then independently continue the coaching process and replicate it in their region or country.
  • We create connections with international and professional Christian aid organizations to expand the training opportunities for local churches and key personnel in the country.
  • We provide networking and training opportunities for local churches and National Evangelical Alliances to connect with international Christian aid organizations and government donors.
