Project „Back to School“ in Ukraine

The Save Ukraine team aims to address the significant challenges facing children, parents, and schools in Ukraine as a result of Russian aggression. Infrastructure has been severely damaged, with over 3,400 educational institutions damaged and 353 completely destroyed. Of the 13,000 schools currently operating, only half are functioning, with many in liberated regions and along the front line forced to conduct online classes. Material and social problems exacerbate the situation, as many displaced families struggle financially and cannot afford school supplies for their children. Education has also suffered serious setbacks: due to the stress and trauma caused by the ongoing conflict, children are missing three years of schooling, resulting in significant learning gaps. Most parents report stress symptoms in their children, such as sleep disturbances and anxiety, which affect their concentration and social skills.

The "Back to School" project supported displaced children in acquiring knowledge and furthering their education, both offline and online. Another goal was to provide 330 war-affected children with backpacks containing essential school supplies. This aimed to reduce the financial burden on families and increase the children's motivation and willingness to learn. The comprehensive school backpacks contain stationery, art, craft, and model kits, lunchboxes, headphones, and power banks—essential items for children in wartime. This initiative aimed not only to meet the immediate educational needs of these children but also to ensure they could continue their education and develop their talents despite the difficult circumstances.

The Save Ukraine team is committed to ensuring that every child has the right to education, regardless of their location or the challenges they face. By providing these vital resources, the project aims to support Ukraine's future generations, enabling them to study, learn, and grow into educated individuals. The team's efforts reflect a commitment to the overarching goal of securing a better future not only for Ukraine but for the entire world, as educated and talented children are crucial for global progress.
